At the USA upfront presentating it has been announced Tom Welling Productions and Rob Thomas Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television will develop a new series called “Blanco County”. Tom Welling will serve as executive producer for this project. Currently this project isn’t picked up for series but in development stages. “Blanco County” is one of eight series which are currently in development for USA.

This is the second project for Tom Welling Production after “Hellcats” for CW which has been reached development status. Like “Hellcats”, “Blanco County” is a book adaption. Below you can read the official press release for it.

BLANCO COUNTY – Based on a series of books by Ben Rehder, BLANCO COUNTY follows the story of John Marlin, a worldly pro baseball player who would rather spend his down time traveling the world than return to his small Texas hometown. After the death of his father, Marlin returns home to find a lot has changed since he left. The place is now booming with rich ranchers and tourists and there’s an uneasy alliance between the locals and the nouveau rich. Believing the local cops to be inept, Marlin runs for sheriff and surprisingly wins. A man who spent his entire life running away from his roots must now adapt to a new way of life. Deadline is reporting Tom Wellling has joined the cast of movie “Draft Job”. Besides him, Kevin Costner and Jennifer Garner are starring in this movie.

Tom Welling has landed a role in Draft Day, the Lionsgate-Summit and Odd Lot Entertainment football movie [...] Welling will play Brian Drew, a veteran quarterback in the crossroads of his career, in the story about a Cleveland Browns GM (Costner) who attempts to trade up for the first pick in the NFL Draft and save football in the city.

Last night, Tom Welling has been spotted at the red carpet of Hakkasan Night Club opening in Las Vegas. He has cut his hair short again and let his beard grow. Photos from the event can be found in our photo forum HERE. A clip from his arrival can be found HERE.
Besides the opening, Tom also celebrated his birthday with some of his friends as Haute Living reports.

Also spotted partying at Hakkasan Nightclub’s main room was Tom Welling star of the former CW hit series “Smallville,” who was visibly excited to be celebrating his birthday with friends. Arriving around 10:30pm and sitting at a table on the dance floor, Welling and his group made a toast and blew out birthday candles around midnight.
